Artisanal:
a way of being

Timeless Values

Isole e Olena has been making artisanal wines for years. We’ve always believed that winemaking is a craft and this philosophy is visible in everything we do: from the way we tie special ribbons around our most promising rows of vines to the work we perform by hand in the vineyard, from the techniques we use in the cellars to how we care for the terraces where the vines grow. It’s a hard task, but always worth the effort, and it helps us create wines that are truly unique. By engaging in a continuous dialogue with nature and accepting the notion that humanity exerts an influence on terroir, Isole e Olena has always been revolutionary, thinking ahead for itself and for the benefit of others.

Our key values have remained unchanged since we planted our very first vines, a fact that has allowed us to care for and protect our terroir while continuing to craft our wines.

Artisanal know-how

We have always used artisanal methods at Isole e Olena. They have shaped our way of being and are evident in all our choices, from our presence in the vineyards to the deep respect we have for the environment and the places dear to us. Our artisanry is also visible in the work we do in the cellar, where each phase of vinification, fining, and aging are performed with great care and attention to detail. Our wines are the result of an artisanal process that has been enacted with skill and precision. By blending knowledge with understanding, we aspire to excellence.

Places that live for wine

Our deep appreciation of Earth and our belief that land should be used in harmony with nature do not end in the vineyard.

In the recent past we have undertaken major works on the terraces, which were built to stop soil erosion, and we have planted ancient varieties of local fruit trees, including almonds, peaches, plum, apple, quince, and jujube. We are also dedicated to keeping the two small villages alive, preserving all their beauty and restoring them only when necessary. Isole e Olena is committed to working in tandem with the environment in the name of harmony, balance and beauty; we warmly acknowledge everything the land gives us, while steadily give back to it, too.
